Kurt Tassotti was born in Feldkirchen (Austria) and attended the free art school under Gerd Neisser from 1980 to 1981. He then studied sculpture under the tutelage of Karl-Henning Seemann at the State Academy of Fine Arts (Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Stuttgart. From 1982 to 1986, he continued his studies under Alfred Hrdlicka and learned the art of bronze casting from Herbert Heinzel. Since 1984, he has distinguished himself through numerous works in public space. Soon after, individual and group exhibitions followed.
