The surface of our products is active patina applie d using handicraft

techniques. It cannot withstand any contamination caused by residual glue or mechanical abrasives. Use only clear water and a sponge for cleaning. Impurities such as bird droppings or fruit acids can only be removed by the company Strassacker. 

The patina is the last step in the production of our bronze objects. The patineur anticipates the natural process of oxidation. For this purpose, various patination solutions made according to old, traditional recipes are used. The bronze object is first dipped into a patina bath for a specified period. Then more patination solutions are applied by hand and burned in with a gas flame. This allows each special colour nuance and shade to be achieved. Finally, the patinated surface is sealed. Due to the chemical reactions of this handicraft-artistic process, slight colour variations are always possible! Depending on

which influence the copper alloy is exposed to, the bronze surface changes over time. 

 

Strassacker bronze objects are processed, patinated and coated with a protective varnish with meticulous craftsmanship. To maintain this varnish as long as possible, we recommend wiping off the accumulated dirt several times a year with a damp cloth without using detergents.
