Torsten Mücke (1964)
Torsten Mücke is a trained goldsmith and chaser. His art could be described as "art of omission". Mücke is a sculptor who reduces his designs step by step to just the essentials, through this he is able to penetrate to the artistic core. It is his precise eye for the essentials that allows him to remain representational. For him, his style is characterised by touching the borders of abstraction, but never exceeding it. The object on display is often just reduced to a silhouette, for Mücke a few precise lines and arcs are all that is required to turn an amazing idea into a stunning sculpture. His small sculptures can be described as masterpieces of great elegance.
