“In order to re-establish the balance of the whole body while moving forward”, the artist explains, “the upper body is brought back and, in the position of the hands, a gesture of both giving and receiving, the woman very calmly and fully engrossed turns towards something that’s very close and valuable to her.”
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
After graduating from high school, Rüdiger Schwenk completed an apprenticeship in stone sculpture (Steinbildhauerausbildung). His studio and workshop are located in Laichingen on the Swabian Alb.
