Without the shepherd, the flock would be lost. He accepts danger and responsibility for his animals and for nature. In return, he earns trusting looks and absolute devotion from those under his care. Guard and rule – it is no accident that the "Good Shepherd" is the epitome of a just and caring reign.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Ingo Koblischek was born in Bohemia/Moravia in 1933 and grew up there until he fled in 1945. This childhood close to nature and also the fact that he first completed a commercial apprenticeship in the post-war years, working simultaneously in agriculture, appears to be not entirely insignificant for his later art.
