Most old couples cannot say what the secret of their long-lasting love is. If you meet one, however, you notice it: a kind of inviolability, a naturalness in their dealings with each other that has proved itself over and over again for a whole lifetime.

These things are hard to capture in words – Roucka’s sculpture therefore gets to the heart of it without words. Her old couple shows a man and a woman as two individual figures which have long grown into an inseparable couple.
