Stelzenläufer
Bronze sculpture details
Gehlen's stilt shows a moment of child-like happiness: it "floats" above the ground, gazing courageously straight ahead and firmly clutching its stilts. Now it knows how it works ‑ forgotten are the insecurity and fear it felt when first trying to walk.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
