Anyone who has seen them soar even once will marvel at them forever: Flocks of birds are one of the most complex things the animal world has to offer. When, as if in response to an invisible and inaudible signal, hundreds, or even thousands of birds suddenly switch to a monotonous movement without touching or hindering each other, it is impressive and is not wrongly regarded as an expression of a shared ‘intelligence’ that is far superior to that of individual birds.

And at the same time, the motif of the flock of birds is about departure, about the search for the new, which is constantly and repeatedly to be discovered - on a large and small scale, in the world in general and, with our bronze flock, in the garden at home.
