Mostert’s series of figures sitting on tall chairs demonstrates her precise power of observation; the largely abstract and featureless forms make their impression through the body language alone that they and their “role” present. You might call them studies of sitting, with a spectrum ranging from being regally enthroned to being quietly at ease.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.

After the completion of her college, Marianne Mostert studied as a graduate textile designer at the "Academy of Fine Arts" (Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Munich, where she worked as a master student of Rudi Tröger, receiving her diploma in 1975. Since then, she is a freelance artist in Weißenhorn in the swabian district of Neu-Ulm.
