The steer represents concentrated animal power, the object of ritual worship since the early history of mankind. This impressive aura surrounds even this small sculpture. The archaic character of the figure is underscored by a passionate fiery patina. Compact and concentrated, the animal seems to stand in constant readiness to fight and presses from its closed posture forward over its lowered head – quite different from his female counterpart.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
