Bronze sculpture details
Translating the ease and grace of flowing movements into a powerful, dynamic language of forms is the goal of my figurative representations. The path that leads again and again to figural representation, whether through drawing or through sculpture, is subject to the longing for aesthetic, body-related statements. In the background there is specific mental groundwork that grapples with arcs of tensions and apparent weightlessness.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Before Gudrun Cornford came to the sculpture forming world, she worked as a graphic designer for many years. As a student of Armin Hofmann and Donald Brun, she studied graphic in Basel, majoring in free drawing. Shortly after that she found herself at an advertising agency in London as a freelance artist and illustrator.
