A fawn - quite apart from the clichés surrounding Bambi - can be seen as an example of a child's basic trust. After birth, it sits well protected in a hiding place; its mother is on the move and only comes by to suckle. But she will come, for sure. And the bright spots on the fawn's fur are perfect camouflage until then.
