“Augen auf Art” – envisaged as a collection, which immediately impresses due to its esprit in expression and form, as well as through idea and function. What’s more, these sculptures prove that the artist, Jagna Weber, not only knows how to transport the old traditions of the Animalier with great earnest into the artistic world of today, but that she is also inspired by a great dose of humour in her artistic message. The cat is formed in such a way that it can accommodate a pair of glasses. In this manner, it is an amusing artwork of perfect craftsmanship that captures the observer’s gaze on the one hand, but on the other it looks back, equipped with glasses, and makes itself particularly useful by providing a home for glasses that aren’t being worn – a fixed place that’s easy to remember and find.
