Bronze sculpture details
In days gone by, the work of a miller was very hard indeed: gruelling physical labour was needed to ensure that those around him did not go hungry.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Ingo Koblischek was born in Bohemia/Moravia in 1933 and grew up there until he fled in 1945. This childhood close to nature and also the fact that he first completed a commercial apprenticeship in the post-war years, working simultaneously in agriculture, appears to be not entirely insignificant for his later art.
