The sculpture’s material links with the artist’s predilection for the iconography of Tuscany. Historically, the tall silver-grey bovines with the extensive horns that are common there are reputed to have been brought along by the Etruscans from Asia Minor.

Hermann Schwahn was an extremely versatile artist who in his 50 years as a freelance artist has left an impressive selection of art behind. After studying at the Academy in Stuttgart, he settled in Göppingen Hohenstaufen.
