The Roman writer Seneca already knew that anyone who wants to reach the stars must go through the ‘rough,’ a ‘soft,’ and therefore comfortable path to get there does not exist. That has not changed in the two millennia since then.

Those who want to get ahead must make an effort and concentrate all their energy on it. The figure in this bronze sculpture demonstrates this: it sprints forward with vigour and focus, never losing sight of its goal for a moment.
