Hermann Koziol (1926 - 2011)
Kaziol's first encounter with sculpture was extremely physical. Returning from the war as a young man, he was an intern at the natural stone quarry in Neuenstein. A mere two years later, his path led him to the Käthe Kollwitz Art School in Berlin, where he met Georg Kolbe, among others, and where he studied sculpture with Giacomo Manzu from 1958 to 1960.
