Bronze sculpture details
Christian and Biblical motifs have run through the work of Ernst Fuchs from the very beginning. He even called a 1996 edition of the Bible he illustrated as “the crowning achievement of my life’s work, the sum of my artistic creation.”
His depiction of Christ shows Jesus triumphant over death, his robe encircling him in a blaze of glory.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Prof. Ernst Fuchs
Ernst Fuchs, who died in November 2015, always wanted to be a universal artist – and he consistently realised this desire throughout his life.
