Helmut Diller was born in 1911 as the son of sculptor Fritz Diller. He studied at the art academy in Munich and has distinguished himself not only as a portrait and landscape painter; a large portion of his work is devoted to animal illustrations which are praised particularly for their anatomical accuracy and naturalness.
