Bronze sculpture details
Haslinger is not only known for her meticulously precise animal portraits. She is also praised for having a keen eye for the typical behaviour patterns of her animal subjects. Her “kratzender Bär” (Scratching bear) is a portrait of a bear in nothing less than acrobatic yet typical pose for the species.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Gabriele Haslinger grew up on her parents' farm on Lake Constance. She began painting all kinds of animals on stall walls and in her school note-books when she was still a small girl.
