Bronze sculpture details
Not only lightweight, but also appropriate to the motifs, these apparently featherweight birds by Ulrich Barnickel at the same time seem to defy the material they are made from. Their names – whether "Singer", "Blissful", "Grumbler" or "Zealot" – can be understood not only as a character trait, but also as a poetic description of their respective (inaudible) songs together making up a garden concert.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Dr. Ulrich Barnickel
Ulrich Barnickel was born in Weimar and trained in Burg Giebichenstein in Halle (Saale) from 1978 to 1984. He has been firmly established on the German sculptors' scene for more than three decades.
