Bronze sculpture details
When the garden blossoms, the plow lies still. But it is ready to cultivate new crops next year and let the natural cycle begin anew with fresh seeds. “La Charrue” (the plow) is one of a series, which Haspel has named “Wardens”.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.
Is Felix Haspel a sculptor? Is he a painter, a graphic artist? Indeed, he is all of these and more, having also taught art as a full professor for fifteen years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He himself, however, refers to himself primarily as a textile artist.
